photoThe Pasadena Wine Meetup Group

Owners of the Leona Valley Winery are quoted as saying ?Wines of a Rare Nature?. One of LA counties first licenced wineries and one of the few that survived prohibition. A desert oasis fed with ocean air via Bouquet Canyon makes it the perfect balance of hot and cold temperatures that have a unique and desired effect on their grapes. Very different than Temecula for example, although I love going there for sparkling wines and Chardonays. This is the second time our group has gone here and the dozen or so of us who went before were very impressed. See the photo album dated June 13 to see what you're in for. This time we're not cherry picking, we're going straight to the winery. https://leonavalleywi... The plan is to meet at N. Hollywood (corner of Magnolia and Tujunga) at 10:30AM for those of us who want to carpool and for whom it's convenient. I highly recommend it. Sunday is plenty of free parking and freeway access is immediate and easy. Otherwise, you can meet directly at the winery outside at the picnic area. I'll warn you though in advance, cell service is patchy out there and you might have difficulty getting a signal if you're trying to contact people and give or get directions. It's best to map it out thoroughly in advance. That said, the directions are simple and once you're there, the picnic area is small enough where you can't miss us. Bring a picknic basket with food of your choice.
