Ventura County Events (Craigslist.org) - Thu, 09/02/2010 - 11:31am
Re: Another Stupid Open Mic

I'm sorry you didn't like the event You seem to be alone in your assessment and displeasure. A nearly full house really enjoyed the evening and wasn't shy about saying so including much applause and cheering.

It was well advertized that there would be a feature performance in the middle of the evening by a local trio of excellent musician/singer/songwriters. They played 45 minutes. Everyone else who came to play got up for just a few tunes.

Everyone who asked to play got up and played.

Did you?

All in the house were invited to sign in to play. The sign in sheet was pointed out from the stage several times and checked. Several individuals were randomly asked, "Are you playing tonight?"

The event even ran over time because one person asked to play near the end. The setup was left intact to accommodate him.

The evening was regarded as a great success by all who commented to the host, bartender, and club owner.

If you want to play, come play. You are welcome to participate.

Best Regards

We are a Camarillo-based Grade 4 pipeband looking to rebuild our drum corps. We compete several times a year against other pipeband at SoCal highland games. The band is also active year-round in other civic and private events in Ventura, Los Angeles, Riverside and Santa Barbara Counties.

Ventura County Events (Craigslist.org) - Mon, 08/30/2010 - 10:40am

Hi
My name is Megan. I am twenty years old and currently in college. I am looking for a nice family that would like to hire me as a part time, live-in nanny. Here is a little bit about me...

My childhood in brief:

I am the oldest of three girls. I was born in Ventura, CA, then moved right away to San Fransisco with my parents until the age of 5. We then moved back to Ventura County, a few years later, my sister was born, she is now 13 years old. I also have another sister, she is 11 years of age. I love my sisters endlessly. We are far apart in age, but that doesn't stop me from talking and hanging out with them. I went to Catholic school from kindergarten to high school. Soccer is my passion, I played for 14 years up until my senior year of high school. I also played volleyball, softball, tennis, swim, irish dancing, and tap dancing. In addition to sports, I took piano lessons as well. Through out high school I maintained a GPA above a 3.0 for four years. My community work and extracurricular activities out did my grades by far. I was president of my class junior year and Vice President of my high school senior year. I now attend Ventura College, I have one more semester left before I transfer to San Diego to major in broadcast journalism. Then I plan on attending Columbia University in New York for graduate school. My goal is to become a celebrity interviewer like Barbara Walters. I love to meet new people and travel. Another one of my goals in life is to raise a happy family. I believe in working for every penny I earn, slacking off is not a term in my dictionary. A few of my hobbies include drawing, painting, cooking, gardening, cleaning, working out, spending time with kids, going to the movies, listening to music, traveling, going to the beach, etc.

I hope you feel a sense of knowing and comfort by reading my profile, please call/email me with any questions or concerns you might have. i would very much enjoy working for you, better yet, spending time with your kids, making each day fun, busy, challenging, and exciting for them. Thank you for taking the time you look over my application. "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt within the heart." -Helen Keller
